As stated on the HCR-20 website (www.hcr-20.com) “Version 3 of the HCR-20 is the latest version of a comprehensive set of professional guidelines for violence risk assessment and management based on the Structured Professional Judgement (SPJ) model”.
The HCR-20 was developed to assist with SPJ decisions about violence risk. Since the publication of Version 1 in 1995 and Version 2 in 1997, it has become the World’s most widely used and best validated violence risk assessment instrument. As such, it has been translated into 20 different languages and adopted or evaluated in more than 35 countries worldwide.
Version 3 of the HCR-20 was developed over five years (2008 to 2013) on the basis of extensive clinical beta testing and empirical evaluation. Therefore, Version 3 should prove to be even more useful than its two predecessors. The international launch of the HCR-20 (Version 3) took place in Edinburgh on 15th April, 2013.
ARW can deliver one and two-day practitioner workshops on the HCR-20 (Version 3) as well as ongoing programmes and “Training the Trainer” courses, all of which can be developed specifically to meet locally identified training needs.
